I’m James L. Martin—Thanks for visiting! You’re possibly here because you’re curious to see how to make the most of your home water supply. Or, maybe you’re worried about its quality. Or, maybe, like me, you’re a water buff. Well, you’ve come to the right place!
I’ve been in love with water all my life. I remember becoming fascinated by it, both in science class and at home. It fascinated me how pure water could get and how there were so many contaminants that can change its quality. I’ll never forget being amazed at how once, when we had something stuck in our old home’s pipes, the plumber undid the pipe and removed some sediment that had come out of the well we used at the time. I remember him telling my folks what they could do to help improve things. Our water started tasting better.
That’s one of the reasons why I decided on being a plumber, going to plumbing school for my needed certifications (Master Plumber and Journeyman Plumber licenses). The more I learned, the more I realized that in the 21st Century we’re often in an ironic situation with water supplies. On the one hand, it’s great that we live in an age where we have the technology to improve the quality. On the other hand, many cities and towns have ancient infrastructures that can impair the quality.
Thinking about all the ways to improve your water is no small thing. There are lots of considerations to work into your decision-making, such as water hardness or whether you’re drawing from a main municipal supply or from a well. My goal is to take you through as many angles as possible as to how you can have the great water you deserve. I give you balanced reviews of systems as well as a buying guide, showing which systems do what. We also cover the science behind our know-how and offer you an F.A.Q. to help get you on the right track to making an informed choice. Not all systems and models are created equal! But then, neither are all water supplies.
It’s our mission to educate you to helping yourself get only the best water coming from your faucet. Which system and model you ultimately choose will depend on your context. You may live in an area where the supply needs only a little help. Whatever the case, if you’re already paying for your water, you’ll want it to taste great and be healthy.
There’s already a lot of information out there. It occurred to me that, because water is so vital, the last thing you’ll want is to have to wade through many pages. So, I’ve brought as many of the relevant facts, reviews and details to bear as expertly as possible. While I can’t give medical advice, I will say that better water is known to enhance our lives. So, let’s go with a better flow!
